Someva Renewables proudly acknowledges that Hills of Gold Wind Farm project is located on the lands of the Gomeroi/Kamilaroi people. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and value working with First Nations groups on renewable energy projects.

Project Overview

The Hills of Gold Wind Farm is located 5km south of Hanging Rock and 8km south-east of Nundle in NSW. The project is located within three Local Government Areas: Tamworth Regional Council, Upper Hunter Shire Council, and Liverpool Plains Shire Council.

The project, which has received approval from the NSW Independent Planning Commission, will feature 62 wind turbines and will generate up to 372 MW of clean, affordable and reliable energy – enough to power 163,000 Australian homes.

The Hills of Gold Wind Farm was co-developed by Someva Renewables and Clean Energy Partners and is now owned by ENGIE, who acquired the project in 2020. Someva has been the development manager since 2018 involved in community engagement, planning approvals process, landowner consultation and agreement process, procurement strategy, preliminary grid connection assessment, layout design and wind monitoring and transport arrangements.

Someva continues to support ENGIE and expects the project to commence construction in 2025.
