LOCAL PROJECT COORDINATOR FOR THE PROPOSED SUNNY CORNER WIND FARM
We’re looking for someone to support the Sunny Corner Wind Farm team with local community outreach and engagement for the investigation phase of the proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm near Bathurst, NSW.
ABOUT THE PROPOSED SUNNY CORNER WIND FARM
The proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm is located in the Sunny Corner State Forest, which is managed by the Forestry Corporation of NSW. The Sunny Corner State Forest is located north of the Great Western Highway, approximately halfway between Lithgow and Bathurst in NSW.
Sunny Corner Wind Farm is a joint venture between Mainstream Renewable Power and Someva Renewables and could become one of the first wind farms operating within a NSW State Forest.
Mainstream and Someva have been awarded a permit by the Forestry Corporation of NSW to jointly investigate a wind farm at Sunny Corner to operate in harmony with recreational and traditional forestry activities. If approved, the wind farm will generate about 500MW of electricity – enough to power up to 300,000 homes with affordable, clean, and reliable energy for 30 years. www.somevarenewables.com.au/sunnycorner
ABOUT YOU
- You live near Sunny Corner State Forest and are familiar with the region and the local
- You have some experience in community engagement and community
- You have experience working with and are respected by members of the local community.
- You have strong networks and can manage community
- Experience in renewables is desirable but is not essential – we will bring you up to
- Available 2-3 days per week.
- Our preference is to work with someone on a contractor/consultant basis.
- Remuneration from $50.00/hour (plus any travel/accommodation).
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working collaboratively with the fantastic Sunny Corner Wind Farm Project Team, this role encompasses:
- Local community engagement
- Engagement with Councils and local MPs
- Local employment and supply chain development
